The University Of Oklahoma Scholarships: A Complete Guide

university of oklahoma scholarships

Founded in 1890 as the Norman Territorial University, the University of Oklahoma has now developed into one of the top doctoral universities in the state. It houses two prominent museums, the Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art and the Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History. With three campuses, several study centres, nearly 3,000 employees, 152 bachelor’s programmes, 160 master’s programmes, 75 doctorate courses and 20 majors, this university is the ideal study destination for any student looking to pursue higher education abroad. Additionally, for those looking for financial aid, there are several University of Oklahoma scholarships available, as described in our guide below.

For students looking for appropriate courses to advance their careers, personal finances contribute to being a major deciding factor. Financial constraints can often obstruct a student’s ability to access quality education and better growth opportunities. Financial aid, grants or scholarships can help the student to reach those junctures. Scholarships not only provide grounds to approach better education but also help to recognise a student’s academic achievements. They make a notable difference in a student’s life and make sure that education is accessible to all, irrespective of their financial background.

Especially for students applying to the University of Oklahoma, scholarship opportunities are far and wide for both domestic and international students. Guidelines To Follow For The University Of Oklahoma Scholarships

While applying for any of the scholarships, there are a few guidelines that the candidates must follow. Firstly, it must be noted that the scholarship is awarded as a waiver in place of the tuition. However, it does not apply to any kind of summer tuition. Also, it cannot be used to pay any fees like enrollment deposit, payment for housing or correspondence courses other than the tuition fees. A student is applicable to receive only one merit-based scholarship. In case a student graduates early, the remaining semester funds are forfeited. Lastly, if a candidate has registered for less than 12 hours during their last semester, the scholarship amount will be calculated in proportion to the reduced tuition fees, for which they must also fill out a Special Conditions Form.

It must be noted that the scholarship amount cannot be used via the Sooner Rose Programme and through the OU Law School, Graduate College, OU Health Sciences Center graduate studies, OU-Tulsa campus, or at any other institution.
