The Sanctuary Scholarships at Imperial College provide financial support for students from displaced communities who are applying for undergraduate or postgraduate study in autumn 2024. 

The Postgraduate Sanctuary Scholarship covers tuition fees, a stipend for living costs, an equipment grant and costs related to English language proficiency tests and visa applications. 

The Undergraduate Sanctuary Scholarship covers tuition fees, a stipend for living costs and a one-off payment for the purchase of a laptop or other educational equipment.

Scholarship Details:

  • Full payment of tuition fees (Home or Overseas rate).
  • Living cost stipend of £19,500 per annum.
  • £1,500 equipment grant for laptop or educational tools.
  • Coverage for English language proficiency test fees, visa application (if applicable), and NHS Surcharge.
  • The scholarship is for one year, excluding repeat study periods and there is one available for postgraduate study.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Have Home or Overseas Fee Status.
  • Apply for an eligible Master’s course by 11:59 (UK local time) on Friday 24th May 2024.
  • Receive an offer to study the eligible Master’s course by 11:59 (UK local time), Friday 8th June 2024.
  • Fall into specific immigration status groups (refugee, humanitarian protection, asylum seeker).
  • All eligible applicants must provide evidence of their immigration status. For any uncertainties, contact Student Financial Support directly.

How to Apply:

  • Search for the desired course, excluding MBA and online programmes.
  • Create an online account and submit your application through the portal by the deadline of 11:59 PM (UK local time) on Friday 24th May 2024. Refer to our guide for assistance.
  • Complete the Sanctuary Scholarship application form by the deadline of 23.59 (UK local time), Friday 24th May 2024.
  • Receive an offer of admission for a Master’s level course by 23.59 (UK local time), Friday 8th June 2024.

Notification:

  • You will be notified via email by 31 July 2024 if you’re successful in receiving this scholarship. If no communication is received by this date, consider the application unsuccessful.

Sports Scholarships

Imperial College London offers sports scholarships to students who are competing at regional, national, and international levels. The scholarships are awarded on a case-by-case basis. The support available includes:

  • Strength and conditioning sessions
  • Physiotherapy
  • Sports rehabilitation and massage
  • Psychology (virtual)
  • Nutrition (virtual)

  • Possess a degree equivalent to at least an upper second-class 2:1 honors degree.
  • Have a minimum of two years of work experience.
  • Commit to returning to your home country for a minimum of two years after the award concludes.
  • Choose one of the specified degree programs as your top preference.
  • Apply and secure an unconditional offer from Imperial by 11 July 2024, designating Imperial as your primary university choice.

Please note that having a master’s degree does not prevent you from applying for a Chevening Scholarship. Additionally, you can submit up to fifteen different employment periods to meet the work experience requirement. 

GREAT Scholarships

In collaboration with the British Council and the GREAT Britain Campaign, Imperial College London has proudly announced 4 scholarships for bright students from Ghana, Greece, Malaysia, Mexico and India who are applying for postgraduate courses in Science, Technology, Engineering, Medicine and Business subjects.

Scholarship Programme Highlights:

  • Financial support for one-year postgraduate study at Imperial.
  • Eligible applicants from Ghana, Greece, Malaysia, Mexico and India will receive an invitation to apply if they secure an offer to study at Imperial by March 13, 2024.

Eligibility Criteria:

To be considered for a GREAT – Imperial College London Scholarship, you must:

  • Be a citizen of Ghana, Greece, Malaysia, Mexico or India
  • Hold Overseas fee status.
  • Apply for a one-year full-time Master’s course.
  • Receive an offer of admission for a one-year full-time Master’s Course from the eligible faculties by March 13, 2024.
  • Be available to commence your studies in the UK by September/October 2024.

You are not eligible if:

  • You hold dual British citizenship.
  • You apply for an MBA course.
  • Your course is an online/distance learning course.
  • The duration of your course is longer than one year.

Additional Requirements:

  • You will be awarded this scholarship if you meet the Imperial College London acceptance rate and other requirements by June 30, 2024.

How to Apply:

  • Stage 1: Apply for a one-year full-time Master’s course at Imperial College London by March 13, 2024.
  • Stage 2: You will be invited to apply for the scholarship in the week commencing March 24, 2024.

Scholarship Details:

  • Each scholarship is worth £15,000 towards tuition fees.
  • Four awards in total, one for each eligible country.
