Chevening Scholarships Program

The Chevening scholarship program was launched in the year 1983 and aims to produce world leaders by attracting a cohort of talented and exceptional students from around the world to study in the UK. Since the time of its establishment, over 50,000 students have received this scholarship award. 

This scholarship is funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office and the UK government. Chevening scholars are selected by the UK Embassy and high Commission from all around the world. 

This scholarship aims to create leaders, decision makers and influencers by developing them personally and academically. 

Eligibility for Chevening Scholarships

  1. Be a citizen or permanent resident of the country where chevening can be offered. Candidates can join British Universities from over 160 countries. 
  2. Candidates must agree to return to their home country for a minimum period of 2 years after the award has completed its tenure. 
  3. Have evidence of an undergraduate degree if wanting to apply for a course in post graduation with not less than 2:1 class or upper second division. 
  4. Have at least 2 years of work experience in the related field of study. 
  5. Have an unconditional offer letter for their course from, at least one university out of three they are required to apply to. 
  6. Candidates having dual citizenships are not eligible to apply for this scholarship or have citizenship from a refugee country that is not chevening-eligible.

Euraxess UK 

This scholarship is offered to students for funding their research projects. Students can request for funding in the fields of Humanities, Formal Sciences, Natural Sciences, Professional and Natural Sciences and Social Sciences. Euraxess is funded and monitored by the British Council acting as a support mechanism for students who want to move to the UK for their tertiary studies. All candidates from ASEAN are eligible to apply for this scholarship. 

Commonwealth Scholarships 

The commonwealth scholarships are offered by the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC) and offers scholarships to students in the following levels of education: 

  1. Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarships
  2. Commonwealth PhD Scholarships
  3. Commonwealth Master’s Scholarship
