Ohio University is a public research university located in Athens, Ohio, United States. It was founded in 1804 and is the oldest university in Ohio. The university saw an enrollment of 27,634 students in 2022. The campus has been named one of the safest in the state of Ohio. Students have access to not only world-class education but also 600 clubs, organisations and 30 fraternities and sororities. 

Ohio University provides more than just a degree. It is located in  Athens which is a small but diverse city nestled amid rolling hills, flowing rivers, a national forest, and other natural wonders. All of these programmes are offered through 12 degree-granting schools and colleges. The College of Arts and Sciences is the university’s main academic section, hosting a diverse array of liberal arts courses in the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences.  The Russ College of Engineering and Technology houses the university’s nationally regarded engineering programmes at the undergraduate and graduate levels. It has roughly 1,400 undergraduate students and nearly 300 graduate students enrolled each year.

In addition to its academic and research programmes, Ohio University has 36 residence halls along with 7 on-campus art galleries. They also have the Athena Cinema which is owned and run by the university itself. Moreover, the university is a member of the Mid-American Conference (MAC) and competes in NCAA Division I athletics. The university has an open admission policy and an acceptance rate of 82%. Students applying at the undergraduate level must procure at least 60% in their higher secondary schooling whereas for PG programmes students must remember that an Indian bachelor’s degree acquired after completion of 3 years isn’t the same as the one in the US. Students can, however, submit extra graduate-level education certificates to improve their prospects of admission to Ohio University.
