The University of Wyoming is a public research university located in Laramie, Wyoming. It was founded in 1886 as the state's land-grant university and is the only four-year degree-granting institution in the state. It is a prevalent residential college in the area, with a single-site campus that houses seven colleges. The Museum at the university collects world-class artifacts to broaden students' perspectives on arts and culture. Housing Facilities 

The University of Wyoming offers a variety of accommodations to accommodate the requirements of students while also ensuring their safety. The University of Wyoming provides six residential options, including Bison Run Village Building Apartments, Crane Hall, Downey Hall, Hill Hall, and Orr Hall. The apartments have one-, two-, or three-bedroom units, as well as a laundry facility, recreation center with a pool table and ping pong tables, and a computer lab. 

 

Library Facilities

The Allen Library is the main library here  and serves as a resource for all academic disciplines. It houses over 1.3 million volumes, as well as electronic resources, special collections, and research assistance. The library features a variety of study spaces, including group study rooms, quiet study areas, and 24-hour study spaces.

 

Dining Facilities

The primary dining location is the Wyoming Union located in the center of campus, which offers a variety of menu options including a salad bar, grill, deli, and international cuisine. Additionally, UW has several retail dining options located throughout the campus, such as Starbucks, Subway, and convenience stores. UW also offers a meal plan program for students, which allows them to purchase meals at any of the dining locations on campus. Admission

University of Wyoming Entry Requirements 

Whether you're a first-time applicant here, an undergraduate student seeking advanced status, or a returning student re-enrolling after a break, the admissions standards are the same for all applicants. Students wishing to be admitted to the university must make a mandatory application fee payment of 40 USD for undergraduate courses and 50 USD for postgraduate courses. You will also need an average GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Each applicant must provide the following:

  • Official transcripts from each college and high school attended (in English or with translations)
  • 3 teacher recommendations
  • Official test scores from the TOEFL iBT (80 for engineering courses and 70 for nursing and other courses) and ELTS (6.5 for engineering courses and 6.9 for UG courses)— all tests must be taken within 2 years of your application date
