Brown University Entry Requirements 

The admissions requirements are the same for all students, whether you're a first-time student applying to Brown, an undergraduate student seeking advanced standing, or a returning student re-enrolling after an absence. All applicants need to submit the following: 

• SAT Subject Tests (if applicable)
• Official transcripts from each college and high school attended (in English or with translations)
• 2 teacher recommendations
• Official test scores from the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language), IELTS (International English Language Testing System), or PTE Academic (Pearson Test of English Academic) — all tests must be taken within 2 years of your application date
• A Resume (Reflecting past work experience) 

• A valid Passport
• LOR 
• Statement of Purpose 

Students who are not U.S. citizens and permanent residents must submit evidence of proficiency in English and meet the University's requirements for international students.

• The TOEFL (100) 
• The University also accepts IELTS (8.0) as a substitute for TOEFL. 

 

Brown University Fees

The academic portion represents the cost of teaching and learning across all three years of your degree course. It covers teaching and assessment materials, library and IT resources, as well as general administration costs associated with your studies. The student services portion covers things like careers advice; counselling and support; sport and recreation activities; societies and events; campaigns on social justice issues (such as mental health) which affect students directly - both at Brown University and wider society at large.

Placements

Nearly a quarter of Brown alumni enter graduate or professional school immediately after graduation, compared to between 60 and 65 percent of all graduates who go directly into employment.
