About
Brown University is a private Ivy League university located on College Hill in Providence, Rhode Island. Founded in 1764 as the College of Rhode Island and later renamed for its founder, the university became coeducational in 1891. Brown is one of the eight Ivy League universities. Now ranked as the third-oldest institution of higher learning in New England and among the top research institutions in the nation, Brown offers more than 100 areas of study across seven schools: Arts and Sciences; Business; Engineering; Environmental Studies; Public Health & Medical Sciences; Graduate School of Education; and Undergraduate Engineering Program (UEP).

Athletic Facilities
The "Brown Bears" are the mascot for the university's athletic teams. The university’s stadium is located in Providence and hosts football games as well as track-and-field events.
