Overview

About

Swansea University is a public research university in Swansea, Wales, in the United Kingdom. As the fourth college of the University of Wales, it was chartered in 1920 as the University College of Swansea. Following institutional changes within the University of Wales, it changed its name to the University of Wales Swansea in 1996. On September 1, 2007, when the University of Wales became a non-membership confederal organisation and the former members became universities in their own right, the name Swansea University was formally adopted. It was the newest of the University of Wales' four colleges at the time. On the advice of a Royal Commission created in 1916, it was founded.

Three faculties are spread across SU’s two campuses, which are situated along Swansea Bay's coast. West of Swansea's city centre, Singleton Park, is where the Singleton Park Campus is located. To the east of Swansea in the Neath Port Talbot region, the £450 million Bay Campus, which debuted in September 2015, is situated near Jersey Marine Beach.

The university has around 165,000 graduates from all over the world. Popular individuals such as Jane Aaron, Donald Anderson, Baron Anderson, Jonathan Asbridge, Samuel Kwame Adibu Asiedu, Sue Austin and many others are part of the alumni community.

Admission

Acceptance Rate

However, strong candidates with reasonable qualifications still have a fair chance, especially if they express genuine enthusiasm for Swansea's esteemed programs.
