About

Liverpool Hope University is a public university located in Liverpool, England. It was founded in 1844 as an Anglican teacher training college and became a university in 2005. The university has three campuses: Hope Park campus, Creative campus, and Aigburth campus out of which two are academic campuses and Aigburth campus completely provides residential services only. This historic university's attractive planted campus has sub-campuses for core teaching, boarding, and outdoor education. The primary teaching site, dubbed "Hope Park," is situated in the beautiful suburbs of Childwall, and includes facilities for students to study, live, work, and relax. 

 

In 2005, the Privy Council awarded the learning centre permission to use the title of university, and Liverpool Hope University was formed as a recognised university. The university was granted the authority to award degrees for postgraduate research programmes in 2009.  It is the only university in Europe which has collaborative foundations of both Catholic and Anglican sects.

The main campus is situated in the leafy suburb of Childwall. Liverpool Hope University’s facilities at Hope park is almost like a mini village offering restaurants, cafes, a gym, a library and accommodation.  Some of the key facilities at the university include:

 

Library: The Sheppard-Worlock library provides students with access to a wide range of resources, including books, journals, newspapers, and electronic databases. The library also offers study spaces, group study rooms, and a range of IT facilities. There are three such on-campus: Hope Park Gateway Foyer, Creative campus Student Success Zone and Aigburth Student Success Zone. Private study spaces, Postgraduate rooms, Group study rooms and Specialist rooms can be booked on the university website.

 

Accommodation: The university provides a range of accommodation options for students, including traditional halls of residence, self-catering flats, and private accommodation. Hope Park has 9 residence halls for first-year undergrads only. Creative Campus has Gerard Manley Hopkins Halls for 1st year and returning undergraduates. Aigburth Campus has 220 en-suite rooms and 207 shared rooms for undergraduates, postgraduates and studies abroad students.

 

Cafeteria: The Hope Park campus has a wide range of restaurants and cafes serving breakfast, sandwiches and noodles, carveries, and cake. Fresh Hope Food Court is the largest eatery on-campus offering breakfast, Street Food Counter, Deli Sandwich Bar, Noodle Bar and Salad Station. Apart from this cafeteria, they also have Frest Hope Shop, Fresh Hope Starbucks, Eden Cafe etc. All of these eateries are open at specific hours for students, staff and faculty with changing menus and different meal plans.
