Ontario Tech University Entry Requirements
Applications for admission to the University of Ontario Institute of Technology are welcome from all around the world. The autumn semester is used for international admissions to undergraduate programmes and, in contrast, admission to postgraduate programmes happens on a rolling basis during spring, summer, and fall. The following Ontario Tech University entry requirements must be kept in mind before applying -
- Official high school transcripts or an equivalent to the Canadian Education system which is a minimum score of 70%
- Certificate of 4-year undergraduate honours degree transcripts (only for postgradute admissions)
- Letters of Recommendation (LOR)
- Academic Letter of Intent/Motivational Letter for Admission
- Work experience and a degree in related fields (programme-specific)
- Proof of Sufficient Finances
- Proof of English Language Proficiency
- Canadian Study Permit or Visa
Ontario Tech University English Language Proficiency Requirements
OTU primarily uses English as the medium of instruction, hence the university requires its applicants whose first language is not English to demonstrate their proficiency in the language. To meet this requirement, Ontario Tech recognises a variety of English language proficiency tests, including the TOEFL, IELTS, CAEL, and PTE Academic, among others. The minimum scores required for each test vary depending on the programme to which the student is applying. Additionally, Ontario Tech also recognises exemptions to this requirement for applicants who have completed a certain level of education in English or who are citizens of certain English-speaking countries.
