Acadia University Entry Requirements

Students who are interested must choose a program and review its criteria on the official website. International students must also meet the standards of their home country. An application fee of CAD 40 is charged for undergraduate programs and CAD 50 for graduate programs. Here are some of Acadia University’s entry requirements that students must adhere to -

General Documents Required At AU:

• All official transcripts
• Statement of Purpose (SOP) to study in Canada
• English language proficiency test score
• Letter of Recommendation (LOR)
• CV/Resume (outlining work experience, extra-curricular activities, achievements, and activities)
• Cover letter indicating why you are interested in university studies

English Language Requirements:

An overseas candidate must demonstrate their English competency through English Language Tests recognized by AU. The university accepts the following exams and scores as indicators of English proficiency -

• IELTS: An overall score of 6.5 with no band below 5.5
• TOEFL: A score of 90 with no section below 20
• PTS: An overall score of 61 with no subtest below 60
• CAEL: A score of 70 with no subtest below 60

Students who have studied English for three years or more may be spared from submitting proof of English competence. Those who do not meet English standards but are academically admissible are allowed to study at the university if they successfully complete the English for Academic Purposes (EAP) program.

Acadia University Placements

Acadia University Placements has a work-study program. Students might work on or off campus to supplement their income. They are permitted to work up to 20 hours per week and those who are enrolled full-time at AU with a valid study permit do not need to obtain a SIN in order to work off-campus. The university offers career counseling as well as co-op programs. These make it easier for students to get work after graduation. It has a specialized platform where students can connect with potential employers. It has a 95% employment rate and employed students earn an average of $40,000 per year.
