• Research Project in Human Genomics 1

Year 2:
 

• Clinical Practice

• Research Project in Human Genomics 2

• Advanced Clinical Genomics 1

• Genetic Counselling Practice 1

• Advanced Clinical Genomics 2

• Genetic Counselling Practice 2

In order to be considered for entry, applicants must have completed:
 

• an undergraduate degree with a cognate genetics subject at second year level, or equivalent; and

• evidence of at least one first year undergraduate biology subject and at least one second year undergraduate genetics subject (preferably human genetics), completed in the last 10 years and with subject marks of at least 65%, or equivalent. Applicants should attach relevant biology and genetics subject descriptions (in English) to their application; and

• a personal statement; and

• at least a minimum 6 months of demonstrated, relevant volunteer or professional experience; and

• three written, signed references to attest to volunteer/work experience and ability; and

• an interview (which may be restricted to shortlisted applicants)

With a Master of Genetic Counselling you can be employed as:
 

• An Associate Genetic Counsellor for individuals undergoing genetic/genomic testing in cancer, prenatal, adult or paediatric medicine settings

• A researcher or program officer in clinical research, public health or community support organisations.
