The University of Melbourne is a higher education institution in Melbourne, Australia. It is the second oldest university in the country and the oldest in the state of Victoria, having been founded in 1853. The main site is in the Melbourne suburb of Parkville, and there are numerous smaller campuses spread around Victoria. These include campuses at Southbank, Burnley, Creswick, Dookie, Shepparton, and Werribee. The institution is structured into ten faculties that provide undergraduate and graduate level courses in over 100 topic areas. They are as follows:

Melbourne University offers approximately 600 undergraduate, graduate, and doctorate programmes to overseas students. Students can live and learn in the university's six campus residences and three precincts. The University of Melbourne's acceptance rate is roughly 70%, and admission is just moderately selective. Unimelb hosts cultural events such as theatre, cinema, comedy, and public lectures.
