About
The University of Nevada Las Vegas is a public research university located in Paradise, Nevada, USA. It was founded in 1957 as a branch campus of the University of Nevada, Reno, and became an independent institution in 1969. UNLV has a diverse student body, with over 31,000 students from all 50 states and more than 70 countries. The university is also known for its athletic programmes, which compete in the Mountain West Conference.
Today, the University of Nevada Las Vegas offers a wide range of undergraduate and graduate programmes, including business, engineering, education, nursing, law, and the arts. It is also home to several research centres, including the Nevada Institute of Personalized Medicine, the Centre for Energy Research, and the Harry Reid Centre for Environmental Studies. The main campus of UNLV is on 332-acres centrally located in Paradise, Nevada. Nearly 40% of first-year students favour living on campus. There are more than 350 different registered student organisations on campus that can help students advance their profession and gain useful experience. On-campus Residence - There are four residence-hall complexes on the campus of the University of Nevada Las Vegas which are namely Dayton Complex, Tonopah Complex, South Residential Complex, and Upper-Class Complex. They have amenities such as laundry facilities, a wireless internet connection, a 24-hour computer lab, conference rooms, and premium cable TV.
Library Services - Several libraries are located on the main campus. The Lied Library, located in the heart of the campus, is the largest and first opened in 2001. Many colleges also have their own private libraries where they keep materials that are more specifically about the college which are The Architecture Studies Library in the UNLV School of Architecture

Athletic Facilities - The Thomas & Mack Centre, Cox Pavilion, Buchanan Natatorium, Earl Wilson Stadium, and Allegiant Stadium are among the university's primary athletic facilities.
