University of Charleston Entry Requirements
The entry requirements for both national and international students are similar.
For undergraduate programmes, applicants must submit their high school transcripts, SAT or ACT scores, a personal statement, and a letter of recommendation.
For graduate programmes, applicants must have a bachelor's degree, transcripts, and GRE or GMAT scores (depending on the programme).
International students must also submit TOEFL or IELTS scores. The application deadline for fall enrollment is July 1st, and for spring enrollment, it is December 1st.
The University of Charleston entry requirements are as follows:
- Official transcripts from all previously attended institutions.
- Transcripts must be scanned and sent via email including translations.
- Average high school GPA of 3.333
- SAT or ACT scores (Average SAT score: 935; Average ACT score: 21)
Other requirements:
- Freshman applicants may receive a preliminary admissions decision based on a self-reported high school GPA, but must submit official transcripts for full admission and scholarship offers.
- ACT and SAT scores are not required for general admission, scholarship, or course placement purposes.
- Some degree programmes, such as nursing and education, require specialized test scores (TEAS and PRAXIS) for admission.
- International students who speak English as a second language must submit test scores (TOEFL, IELTS, Duolingo) to demonstrate English proficiency.
- Students should report their cumulative GPA accurately, as any inaccurate GPA submissions may result in revisions or revocation of admissions decisions or scholarship offers.
