The University of Kansas (KU) is a public research university with its main campus located in Lawrence, Kansas, and other satellite campuses, research and educational institutes, medical centres, and classrooms spread out around the state of Kansas. With 28,000 students and 2,600 staff members across five campuses, it is a significant public research and teaching institution (Lawrence, Kansas City, Overland Park, Wichita, and Salina). The KU School of Business launched multidisciplinary graduate programs in operations research during the 1965–1966 academic year. Before Tim Berners-Lee developed HTTP and HTML, Lynx allowed hypertext navigation and browsing.
