Overview

About

Saint Peter's University, one of the 28 Jesuit higher education schools in the United States, was founded in 1872 and is situated in Jersey City, New Jersey. It was originally created as a male-only institution, with students ranging from high school to college level. Despite operating in the same location, the college and high school eventually split and became Saint Peter's College and Saint Peter's High School. The institution closed from 1918 to 1930 due to the effects of World War II, reopening in downtown Jersey City and admitting women for the first time. It moved to its current location six years later, a 25-acre campus in the centre of Jersey City that houses the great bulk of the university's buildings and residential halls. Saint Peter’s University’s acceptance rate is 85% which implies that admissions to the institution are relatively easy.

Another branch of the university, known as Englewood Cliffs Campus, was established in 1975 and is connected to the main campus by a pedestrian bridge built in 2004. The Englewood Cliffs Campus includes several of the university's graduate programs, while the main campus comprises five primary teaching facilities. This is also the home of the university's sporting teams. This is a private research university that provides undergraduate, post-graduate, and doctorate degrees in a variety of fields such as Humanities, Commerce, Management, Science, and Technology. For all streams, the education approach is fully centred on research methods, internships, and actual projects.

The Middle States Commission on Higher Education, 3624 Market Street, Philadelphia, has accredited the university. The Middle States Commission on Higher Education is a nationally recognised institutional accrediting organisation authorised by the United States Secretary of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. It is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for students from all around the world to study at Saint Peter's University, which recently celebrated 150 years of academic distinction. It comprises five colleges or schools that specialise in various fields and specialities. College of Arts and Sciences, Caulfield School of Education, School of Nursing, Frank J. Guarini School of Business, and School of Professional and Continuing Education are the five colleges or schools.
