Rochester Institute of Technology’s acceptance rate stands at 71%  with a total of 19,000+ students, including 16,000+ undergraduates and 3000+ graduates. Students come from more than 100 nations throughout the world and all 50 US states, according to statistics by RIT. More than 3,900+ teachers and staff employees at the university are actively involved in teaching, research, and other academic activities with the students. According to the number of full-time students, it is the 9th largest private institution in the country. It is well known internationally for its scientific, computing, engineering, and art programs in various undergraduate, graduate, doctoral, professional, and online Master's degrees.

 

Entry Requirements

The university has more than 4,300+ students from diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds out of which 2,000+ are international students. The university is test-optional for Fall 2023 and 3-year Bachelor’s degrees from Indian institutions which are ‘NAAC’ accredited with a grade of ‘A’ are accepted by the university.  Students can apply through the Common Application or RIT Application with a fee of $65. Rochester Institute of Technology entry requirements for international students is as follows -

 

Undergraduate Admission Requirements:

  • Official high school records from previous institutions
  • A Minimum GPA of 2.8 or more
  • SAT score of 1270 and 1450; or an ACT score of 29 and 33
  • English Language proficiency scores
    • TOEFL-iBT score of 79
    • IELTS score 6.5
    • PTE score of 58
  • An Art Portfolio is required for admission to the School of Art, School of Design and School of Film and Animation
  • Letter of Recommendation (LOR)

  • 4-year Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college
