Marshall University rankings in the 2022 edition of the U.S. News & World Report's Best Colleges rankings, the university was ranked #27 in the "Top Public Schools" category for Regional Universities South. The university was also ranked #105 in the "Best Undergraduate Engineering Programs" category and #194 in the "Business Programs" category. In addition, they were named the "Best Value School" and the "Top Performer on Social Mobility" by U.S. News & World Report.

 

Apart from the US News and World Report, they have also been ranked by other reputable ranking platforms. The Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2023 ranked them at #299 globally. The university was also recognized by the Center for World University Rankings (CWUR), which ranked it #1710 out of 20,000 institutions worldwide in its 2022-2023 rankings.

 

Furthermore, they were recognized by the Forbes Magazine as one of America's Best Colleges in 2021, ranking #410 out of 650 colleges in the United States. The university was praised for its affordability, with 71% of students receiving financial aid.

The university's academic departments have also received recognition. The Lewis College of Business was ranked #17 in the Best Business Schools in the Southeast by The Princeton Review in 2021. In addition, the School of Medicine was ranked #2 in the state of West Virginia for Best Medical School by U.S. News & World Report in 2021.
