Lyon College, situated in Batesville, Arkansas, is a private liberal arts institution with ties to the Presbyterian Church. Originally established in 1872 as Arkansas College, it holds the distinction of being the oldest autonomous college in the state of Arkansas.

 

In 2019, Lyon College had a total undergraduate enrollment of 655 students. Notably, the college takes pride in its Scottish Heritage Programme, which awards scholarships and organises the annual Arkansas Scottish Festival held in April. Facilities

Initially, the college was situated within the area now occupied by the First Presbyterian Church of Batesville, referred to as the "downtown" block. However, during the 1920s, the college relocated to the East End Heights neighbourhood, later known as the middle campus. Subsequently, between 1991 and 1994, several new buildings were added to the campus, including the Holloway Theatre, Lyon Business and Economics Building, President's Residence, Bradley Manor, Upper Division Residence Hall, and Young House.

 

The campus continued to expand, with the Derby Center for Science and Mathematics completion in December 2003, followed by the Kelley Baseball Complex in January 2004. As of now, the college's campus encompasses an impressive 136 acres, providing ample space for its various facilities and activities. Some other Lyon College facilities are:
