Long Island is a private institution with two main campuses in New York, LIU Post and LIU Brooklyn. The university comprises 488 full-time professors, with a large majority holding the highest degree in their respective fields. The Brooklyn campus, the university's first campus, consists of nine academic buildings, a sports and leisure complex with athletic fields, an adjoining parking facility, and one on-campus and two off-campus residential buildings.
