Kent State University Entry Requirements

International applicants must meet the requirements for admission to the university depending on their course preference. Below are the general Kent State University entry requirements.

Information on Transcripts 

The university can learn a lot from your official transcripts to assist them in making admissions decisions, including your cumulative grade point average (GPA), the kinds of subjects you took, how challenging those classes were, patterns in your grades, etc.

The following is the Ohio State Board of Education's recommended full college preparatory curriculum:

• 4 English units (emphasis on composition)
• 4 mathematics units (Algebra I, II, Geometry, with minimum Algebra II complete)
• 3 science units
• 3 social studies units
• 2 foreign language units
• 1 arts unit or an additional foreign language unit

 

Undergraduate Courses:

• Completion of secondary school equivalent of U.S. senior high school
• GPA of at least 2.5 on a scale of 4.0
• English language proficiency

 

Postgraduate Courses:

• Finishing undergraduate coursework in a field of study related to the graduate course
• A 3.0 GPA or above on a 4.0 scale

• English language proficiency

 

Kent State University Fees

Along with master's and PhD programmes, the university provides more than 280 undergraduate majors. For qualified first-year overseas students, there are numerous merit-based scholarships available. Foreign students may get up to $32,000 in total scholarships to help them complete a four-year undergraduate degree. You are eligible for many of Kent State's scholarships as an overseas student, especially if you have an impressive academic record.
