Overview

About

Embry–Riddle Aeronautical University is a private university renowned for its aviation and aerospace programmes. It operates main campuses in Daytona Beach, Florida, and Prescott, Arizona. ERAU also offers a variety of online programmes and academic courses at satellite locations as the largest accredited university system specialising in aviation and aerospace. Originally established as a regional institution catering to pilots and aircraft mechanics, and has since evolved alongside the growth and advancements in aviation and space-related programmes.

The financial endowment amounted to $111.3 million in 2016. On December 17, 1925, John Paul Riddle and Talton Higbee Embry founded the Embry Riddle Company at Lunken Airport in Cincinnati, Ohio. Subsequently, in the spring of 1926, the Embry Riddle School of Aviation was established. However, in 1930, a merger with Aviation Corporation (AVCO) led to the closure of the school. Nevertheless, in 1939, John Paul Riddle, along with John Graham McKay and his wife Isabel, re-established the school in Miami, Florida.

Embry–Riddle Aeronautical University offers an array of aviation-focused short courses designed for professionals engaged in aviation organisations' operations, management, and supervision. These courses cover diverse topics such as Unmanned Aircraft Systems and Aircraft Accident Investigation and Management. The "Worldwide campus" facilitates global access to these courses, providing options for online, video, or face-to-face learning.
