Cornell University has shown excellence by securing 20 spot on the global scale.

In the US, Cornell was placed seventh by QS World University Rankings in 2020 and ninth by Times Higher Education. In the Best Colleges in America rankings published by Business Insider in 2013, the university came in at number ten. In a global academic ranking of universities published by Academic Ranking of World Universities in 2015, it came in at number thirteen.

According to The Washington Monthly's rating of institutions' contributions to social mobility, community service, and research in 2022, Cornell was rated 8th nationally.
