MRes Psychology

This programme comprises of two taught modules across two semesters, and an in-depth research project completed throughout the academic year. You will have weekly lectures, seminars, and workshops at the university associated with each taught module. For your research project, you will receive up to ten supervision hours with your research supervisor, in addition to research workshops, and access to a monthly group supervision research group.
 

MODULES
 

• Applied Research Methods: A module designed to develop Level 7 knowledge in research methods applicable to psychology, including quantitative, qualitative, and experimental methods. You will have the opportunity to make the most of the psychology lab and learn additional research skills, such as how to publish work and work collaboratively through research.
• Assessment in Psychological Practice and Research: As part of this module, you will learn more about how psychologists collect information for clinical formulations and research. Please note that this module does not qualify you to undertake any psychological assessments or teach you how to do specific assessments, but will increase your knowledge of such concepts and support you to think of assessments ethically. As a developing researcher on this programme, this module aims to offer you the chance to develop your skills in applied research with clinical populations in psychology. 

Applicants should already have an undergraduate degree in psychology, ideally with a minimum classification of 2:1, although a 2:2 may also be considered.

Applicants are encouraged to apply as soon as possible, as the deadline for applications will be in early September each year. 

The fees for MRes Psychology may vary from £12,000 to £25,000 annually for tuition fees. The fee's prices may get higher for International Students.
