Program Overview

Gain research and entrepreneurial skills needed to sustain your career, with an ethos of fostering a sustainable society mindful of environmental and civic responsibility for our future. Develop your knowledge and skills in publicity, marketing and fundraising, audience development and engagement and leadership and management.
Take part in events and field trips across the UK, from festivals to local special events.
Previously, students have had the opportunity to apply for the Arts Council of Wales Invigilator Plus Scheme. This allowed successful students to invigilate at the Welsh Pavilion at the Venice Biennale and work alongside peers from other Universities in Wales. Students have also had opportunities to be part of mentorship schemes with established curators and artists
Engage in critical conversations concerning the formation and engagement of public exhibitions involving Welsh culture and Welsh artists, discussing topics such as the artist as curator, exhibition as an art form, curating performance and cultural production as forms of resilience and activism.
There is also an emphasis on writing for publication, exhibition reviews, curatorial thesis, and audience-facing information texts.

Course Content
Students will study four core modules each worth a total of 30 credits, followed by a final dissertation project worth 60 credits.

Entry Requirement
We currently require an initial undergraduate degree in a relevant subject, classified as First Class or 2:1, or evidence of recent activity in the subject equivalent to these classifications as determined by interview.

All applicants are expected to hold a good and relevant initial degree, or provide a portfolio of their own work, demonstrating their understanding of the subject and artistic skills. Overseas students can submit their portfolio and statement of intent digitally if they are unable to visit the university in person.
Fees & Scholarships
The fees for MA Creative Production and Curatorial Practice may vary from £12,000 to £25,000 annually for tuition fees. The fee's prices may get higher for International Students.
