Computing and Electronics (Foundation Year)

The Foundation Year course is a one-year full-time programme to allow students from a variety of different academic backgrounds to achieve the entry requirements for BSc/BEng programmes within the School of Applied Computing.
 

The course, which has two streams (Computing or Electronics), offers a grounding in the skills required for students' target programme of study, and includes instruction in academic writing, problem-solving, programming, electronics and maths.Successful completion of the Foundation Year gives a guaranteed place on the undergraduate degrees offered by the School (BSc Applied Computing, Cloud Computing, Cloud Software Development, Data and Information Systems, Computer Networks and Cybersecurity, Games Development, Software Engineering, Web Development or BEng Electrical and Electronics Engineering)
