The following grades are normally required (exam board in brackets): 50% (West Bengal), 55% (ISC, awarded by CISCE), 60% (CBSE), 65% (all other state boards) for undergraduate study.

• Some midwives may go on to other related roles in services such as sexual health and health visiting, neonatal care and more.
• Many of the students go on to postgraduate study, including master's and PhD, conducting research and publishing in peer reviewed journals adding to the midwifery evidence base.
