• English Language and Maths GCSEs at C/4 or above (or a recognised equivalency e.g. Level 2 Key/ Level 2 Functional Skills).
• Evidence of recent academic study completed within the last five years.
• BCC at A level
• BTEC level 3 Extended Diploma or
• National Diploma or Cambridge Technical at DMM
• A kitemarked Access to Higher Education course with 30 credits at Merit or above
• Successful completion of the first year of a relevant Foundation Degree
• Health and Social Care Diploma at Level 3 (advanced level)
• CACHE Diploma achieved at grade B or above
• T Level at Merit (with a C in the core component)

The cost of studying at University of Northampton varies largely depending on the type of university and the degree chosen. There are many avenues you can chose once you are registered as a children and young people’s nurse on the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) register.  You can choose to work in acute settings such as: a children’s ward, children’s emergency department, theatres, neonates.

Alternatively, you may choose to work in the community as: a health visitor, school nurse, community children’s nurse, within a special educational needs school.

There are many other specialist roles within children and young people’s nursing too such as: a children and adolescent mental health service, research nurse, intensive care, clinical nurse specialist.
