Year 1
In addition to taking core modules in Mathematics, you will acquire a broad understanding of the fundamentals of Accounting.

Year 2
In your second year you will study three core modules in Accounting as well as picking from several optional modules in Mathematics. These include areas relevant to business, such as statistical modelling and inference. You will gain a thorough grasp of the techniques used in modern management accounting, and will see how mathematical tools such as linear programming are used in commercial decision-making.

Placement year (if taken)
If you choose the ‘with a Year in Industry’ variant of this degree, your placement will take place in the third year of this five year degree.
Year 3 (Year 4 if taking placement year)
In this year you’ll study two compulsory modules in Accounting as well as having the freedom to choose modules in Mathematics from across the department. 30 credits may be chosen from outside the areas of mathematics and accounting.

Final year
Your final year will involve further advanced modules relevant to mathematics and accounting alongside a substantial research led Masters level project.
