MA Applied Security Strategy

The MStrat is a challenging, real-world, employability focussed programme designed with input from world class academics and external stakeholders. It is block-taught, cohort based and benefits from a strong compulsory central pathway focussed around Ends, Ways, Means, Implementation. You will be exposed to key concepts in ‘Applied Strategy’ from the world class academics from the SSI and wider University of Exeter community as well as unrivalled insight from high-profile practitioners drawn from the SSI’s Honorary Network.
 

You will learn about applied strategy from an interdisciplinary perspective, with a keen focus on enhancing your skillset through ‘tools of the trade’ sessions on your strategic mindset through crisis management simulations, field trips and policy focused work.
 

You will complete a MA level academic dissertation with specific research skills and methods training.

To be considered for the MA Applied Security Strategy, you should have a 2:1 or equivalent in your initial degree. If you don’t have a first degree, or you have attained a 2:2 or equivalent, and you can demonstrate significant relevant experience and career progression, you may still be eligible for the programme and we would welcome your application.
 

You should include a personal statement clearly indicating your motivation for studying this programme, and long-term career goals within the security strategy sector.
 

Applications from sector professionals, or applicants with relevant experience seeking academic qualification, or the opportunity to enhance skills or knowledge in this field are encouraged.

  Overall score 6.5. No less than 6.0 in any section.
   

• TOEFL

  Overall score 90 with minimum scores of 21 for writing, 21 for listening, 22 for reading and 23 for speaking.

UK fees per year:
£15,500 full-time; £7,750 part-time
