University of Essex Ranking for 2024

According to the Times Higher Education's "intensity" ranking for REF2014, which mapped university performance against the percentage of eligible personnel reported, UOE was ranked 19th overall among traditional UK universities. In addition to being crowned University of the Year at the Times Higher Education Awards in 2018 and receiving a Gold rating for teaching excellence from the TEF since 2017, UOE is also recognised as an outstanding international research-intensive university by the REF. The TEF Panel recognised remarkable levels of satisfaction with teaching, academic assistance, assessment, and feedback among students from all backgrounds who continued and progressed to highly skilled employment or further study.
