Program Overview

How does age, gender, social background and regional origins affect the way we use language? How do languages change over the course of time, and why? How do children learn to talk? Why do some languages appear so different from others? Linguists study these and other questions to gain insight into what it means to “know a language”. An understanding of our language enhances our self-awareness, inspiring us to address fundamental questions about our communication as human beings.

Entry Requirement
- 60% in Indian year 10 (Standard X) Mathematics or 40% in Indian year 12 (Standard XII) Mathematics, in addition to the below.
Award of the Indian year 12 (Standard XII) examination with an overall average from the four best subject (excluding PE and local language):
- CBSE, CISCE and other regional and national boards - 70%
- Karnataka (Bangalore), Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh boards - 60%
- Kolkata (West Bengal board) - 55%
- In order to meet our English language requirements we can accept 70% in English from Year 12 (Standard XII) if taken with CBSE or CISCE board.
