University of Dundee

According to the top international rankings as of 2024 (ARWU, QS, Times, and CWTS Leiden), Dundee is ranked at the position of #441 in the QS World University Rankings of 2024, and 201st - 300th in the Academic Ranking of World Universities. Dundee was ranked 16th globally and first in the UK in the 2016 THE's 150 Under 50 Rankings, which are institutions with fewer than 50 years of age. In 2015 - 2016 and 2016 - 2017, the university was named “Scottish University of the Year” by The Times Good University Guide.

 

Other ranking organisations have placed the institution based on their own criteria. US News & World Report's Global Universities put the university at 312 for 2021, THE (Times Higher Education) - University Ranking placed it between 201 and 250, and QS - World University Ranking placed it at 319. Course Rankings:

Dundee's subject offerings in dentistry, forensic science & archaeology, law, and medicine are among the top ten in the country according to the three major 2020 university rankings in the UK (CUG, Guardian, and Times). According to at least one of the rankings, Anatomy & Physiology, Art, Biological Sciences, Business Management, Education, Fashion & Textiles, and Medical Technology all place in the top 10 nationally.

 

Business, engineering, and computer courses have all been considered while determining the University of Dundee's course rating. For five years in a row, from 2017 to 2021, The Guardian and The Complete University Guide ranked engineering courses in the top 40 courses for popular programmes. According to The Complete University Guide's rankings for pursuing Computer Science, the university is placed 25th in 2020 and 33rd in 2021 when it comes to computer courses.
