Program Overview

The MRC Biostatistics Unit is an internationally recognised research department of the University of Cambridge specialising in statistical modelling with application to medical, biological or public health sciences.

Our PhD students are registered with the University of Cambridge. Students belong to one of the University's Colleges and are trained at our Unit at the University Forvie Site on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus at Addenbrooke's Hospital.

Entry Requirement
- Applicants for this course should have achieved a UK High II.i Honours Degree.
- All students applying to the MRC BSU PhD programme must have or expect to get a first or high II.i honours degree in mathematics, statistics or a related discipline.
- All applicants will be expected to have significant knowledge of both practical and theoretical mathematics and /or statistics via taught courses at undergraduate level or equivalent.
- Those students who have gained their degree outside the UK will be subject to University of Cambridge criteria for overseas qualifications to ensure that this high level is maintained. A master's degree is also considered desirable.
