Overview
About
Ravensbourne University London (previously known as Ravensbourne College of Design and Communication) is a media and design university that offers vocational courses in fashion and design, broadcasting media, interactive product design, architectural and environmental design, graphic arts, animation, moving picture, music creation for media, and sound design. Bromley School of Art, Sidcup School of Art, and Beckenham School of Art were combined to form Ravensbourne in 1962. It began in Inner London at Bromley Common, moved to Chislehurst, and then inaugurated a new campus in the fall of 2010 on the Greenwich Peninsula. The River Ravensbourne, which runs from Bromley Common to Greenwich, is the source of the college's name.
With two major course clusters, the Design School and the Screen School, Ravensbourne provides undergraduate, postgraduate, and even further education programs. There are Foundational degrees, top-up years for honours degrees, and Bachelor's degrees available at the undergraduate level. The postgraduate program offered includes master's level courses that can be completed for the MA, MDes, or MSc degrees (dependent on the subject). The three primary fields of fashion, design and broadcasting offer a variety of subject areas.
