Major education publishers like QS (Top universities), Times Higher Education, The Guardian, The Complete University Guide have ranked Newcastle among the best.  It has been ranking amon the top 100 universities in the world since the past 5 years. The Teaching Excellence Framework for the year 2017 awarded the university gold status for its education quality. According to Research Excellence Framework, 83% of the university’s research is ranked 3 to 4 stars. In the year 2020, Guardian University ranked the university 51st position among global universities. The Complete University Guide ranked the university 23rd position on its table for the year 2021.
