The information below is intended to provide an example of what you will study.

Most degrees are divided into stages. Each stage lasts for one academic year, and you'll complete modules totalling 120 credits by the end of each stage.

Stage 1

Our Civil Engineering with Foundation Year programme provides a pathway to our degrees if you do not meet the entry requirements for entry into Stage 1.

On successful completion of our Civil Engineering with Foundation Year MEng programme, you can progress to Stage 1 of our Civil Engineering MEng Honours degree.

During the Foundation Year, you take just over half your modules in mathematics, mechanical sciences and applied mechanics. The remainder of your modules covers a range of engineering and science topics and includes a project, as well as laboratory work related to the engineering degree you wish to study.

A Level
AAB in any subjects but excluding General Studies and Critical Thinking. GCSE grade B or 6 in Mathematics and Physics (or Dual Award Science) required if not offered at A or AS Level.

International Baccalaureate
34 points.

Typically we recognise a 80% average in Standard XII as comparable to AAB at A Level.
