Year 1
Your first year is all about setting solid foundations which you build on as you progress through the course. You study studio-based recording, desktop production and live sound. Essential theory forms a crucial part of your training, focusing on areas including acoustics, basic electronics and practical skills such as fault finding and basic maintenance. During the course, the theory you learn is always strongly linked to practical applications.

Year 3
In this year, the focus is on preparing for your professional career. You produce a portfolio of practical projects of your choice in the area(s) which you want to pursue after graduation and select modules which reflect your ambitions. Your final projects could be entirely based around live sound, studio production, post-production or any combination of these. In addition to studying three core modules, you choose two major options to develop advanced skills in areas you want to specialise in, as well as one minor option in an area which complements audio production, such as composition and arranging or video production.
