Year 1

Your first year begins with the fundamentals of musicianship, including aural skills and improvisation. You are encouraged to develop, write and produce projects to develop your professionalism, with regular opportunities to showcase material. You develop your understanding of songwriting, music production, composition and arranging skills. Theory is always linked back to your practical skills and realising your own music. You learn about business and self-management concepts to support your future career as a musician.

Year 2

This year, you continue with the key areas from Year 1, but develop your skills at a more advanced level through a range of classes and workshops. You focus on songwriting and arranging, putting your creative skills into practice against industry briefs, alongside further development of your knowledge and skills in production. In preparation for your professional life, you create a career plan and an entrepreneurial project.

Year 3

In your final year, you are expected to be working to a professional standard, and you have increased autonomy for creating your own music and opportunities. You continue to hone your skills in songwriting and production to an advanced level and have the opportunity to showcase your work through showreels and an online portal.
