Year 1
Your first year is spent building a solid foundation in a broad range of management subjects relevant to the music, entertainment, theatre and events industries. You develop your skills in marketing, finance, entertainment law and raising funds. To place your work into context, you begin to develop your awareness of the performing arts economies and how they are situated in relation to political and social contexts. You start to put your theoretical knowledge into practice and explore your own professional practice through collaborating on projects with fellow students from Management and other courses.

Year 3
Your final year allows you to specialise and gives you a head start in your professional career. You spend the first three months gaining hands-on experience through a work placement with an organisation you choose based on your career ambitions; this not only gives you real working experience but also augments your networks across your chosen sector. You research and write a substantial report exploring a management issue of your choice. You also deliver a presentation to your peers and others at our annual Contemporary Issues in Management conference. Reflecting on the projects you’ve worked on across all three years, you produce a portfolio which documents your experiences and which you can use as evidence of your work to future employers and other stakeholders.
