What you'll study

Year one
This is a practical course that gives you the space to explore your creative interests and innovations while allowing you to develop a solid base of skills and knowledge to further your career aspirations.

• Fundamentals of Sound - 20 credits

• Recording Technology and Techniques - 20 credits

• Audio Electronics - 20 credits

• Sound Art Composition - 20 credits

• Sound Design and Synthesis - 20 credits

Year two
Year two expands on the practical and theoretical lessons learns in year one. There is a particular focus on careers/ employability.

• Music Technology Research - 20 credits

• Acoustics- 20 credits

• The Music Business -20 credits

• Live Sound -20 credits

• Music Production - 20 credits

• Developing a Professional Profile - 10 credits

Final year
In the final year, you will apply your knowledge gained from years one and two. You will cover a range of topics within Music Technology so you are prepared for the field of your interests.

• Audio Plug-in Development -20 credits

• Sound Design and Game Audio - 20 credits

• Music Technology Project - 40 credits

• Professional Portfolio - 10 credits

Portfolio

You will be required to submit a portfolio via email or alternatively attend a showcase activity session or audition (as is appropriate for your course) which can be virtual or face to face, as is practical to arrange.
