Why you should study this course
This course is informed by theory and practice in visual information design in many forms, including, but not limited to:
- user experience design
- web development
- digital media and photography
- video
- 2D and 3D graphics
- animation and the transmission of that content through Information and Communications Technology (including, but not limited to, streaming media, ‘smart’ television, web data services, smart devices, information displays, museum displays, AR and VR interfaces)
In January 2021, Coventry University participated in Global Game Jam, an online competition where more than 28,000 game creators in 104 countries at 585 virtual sites around the world created over 6,000 games. Students had just 48 hours to create a game, and here are the games they made.
What you'll study
Year one
The first year is focused on equipping you with the necessary knowledge to be able to specialise in subsequent years. It is primarily a practically-oriented and production-focused year where the goal is for you to achieve learning through doing.
