Additional Requirements

For Music: Grade 8 Practical in one instrument or voice + Grade 5/6 Theory. Math or a numerate subject required for Engineering, Physical Sciences, and Architecture (except Architecture). Health, Medical, and Life Sciences need one science subject.

For Undergraduate Students

  • All undergraduate applicants must demonstrate a standard level of academic English or Welsh language that will enable them to benefit fully from their course of study.
  • For most applicants, this can be evidenced using a GCSE in English or Welsh language at grade C/4 or above.
  • The university minimum requirement for the English language is a grade C/4 at GCSE or IELTS (Academic) with 6.5 overall and a minimum of 5.5 in each of the subskills.
  • For some undergraduate courses, the admissions tutors may ask for higher grades or scores.

 

For Postgraduate Students

  • All postgraduate applicants must demonstrate a standard level of academic English or Welsh language that will enable them to benefit fully from their course of study.
  • For most applicants, this will be an IELTS (Academic) of 6.5 with a 5.5 in each subskill or a GCSE in English or Welsh language at Grade C/4 or above.
  • For some postgraduate courses, the admissions tutors may ask for higher grades or scores.
