Program Overview

English is so much more than a school subject. It is about confidence with language and with communication, and it is about engagement with literature which explores our world and our place in it.

On this course we begin with the three components of English: reading, writing, and spoken word. These traverse the two elements of the subject – Language and Literature – and form our starting point: How is reading used in lessons? When (and why) do pupils write? How do speaking and listening inform pupils’ understanding and support their development?
