MSc Strategic Marketing and Consulting

In addition to your Individual Project (60 credits), the following modules must be taken:
 

Semester 1

• Contemporary Global Marketing and Responsibility Issues (20 credits)

• Problem Solving and Strategic Marketing as Practice (20 credits)

• Strategic Marketing and Management (20 credits)
   

Semester 2

• Analytical Marketing Insights (20 credits)

• Consultancy Skills and Practice (20 credits)

• Digital and Innovative Marketing (20 credits)

Applicants will have an Honours degree (2:1 or higher) or postgraduate diploma or equivalent. The degree must be in marketing, business and management, or a degree with at least two marketing modules. If not, at least two years full-time relevant work experience is required.
 

• Either: A four year Bachelors degree (first class or very good upper second class)

• Or: A three year Bachelors degree (first class) from recognised institutions in India.

• For MSc programmes, the Business School will consider holders of three-year degree programmes (first class or very good upper second class) from recognised institutions in India.

• For entry to LLM programmes, Birmingham is happy to accept applications from 3 or 5 year LLB holders from India from prestigious institutions.
   

International Students

English language scores of 7.0 IELTS (no less than 6.5 in any band).
 

• IELTS 7.0 with no less that 6.5 in any band
• TOEFL: 95 overall with no less than 22 in any band
• Pearson Test of English (PTE) including online: PTE Academic 76 with no less than 67 in all four skills
• Cambridge English (exams taken from 2015): Advanced or Proficiency – minimum overall score of 185, with no less than 176 in any component

You will work with leading Business School academics and industry practitioners to develop much needed employability skills such as creativity and innovation, leadership, communication, digital competency and responsible business.
 

The course is designed to enhance career paths in a variety of areas, including senior marketing or consulting roles and future CMOs. These roles could be in the public, private or charity sectors where there is high demand for graduates who can conduct research, analyse information, then formulate and evaluate programmes of activity.
