Applied Data Science & Visualisation
The module provides accounting students with the underlying concepts and foundations in data analytics and visualisation. Coverage includes acquiring, organising, analysing, and presenting large data sets. The module serves as an introduction to both Python and Tableau.
Corporate Valuation Models
This module develops a conceptual framework for corporate decisions, focusing the responsibilities, concerns, and methods of analysis of the finance department. The module enables students to build firm valuation modules using a variety of valuation approaches. Emphasis is placed on discounted cash flows models in a variety of contexts to estimate intrinsic firm or project value.
Managerial Planning and Control
This module covers major concepts, tools and techniques in managerial accounting. The emphasis is on the use of managerial accounting information for decision-making, planning, and controlling activities. Topics include nature of control, responsibility centres, performance evaluation, pricing for intermediate products, strategic planning, budgeting, balanced scorecard, and etc.
Preparing Financial Statements
The module is to equip students as accountants to prepare financial statements and to interpret published financial statements for decision-making.
Semester 2
Corporate Accounting and Reporting
The module covers further topics in financial reporting at the graduate level, with special reference to accounting for PPE, investment properties, intangible assets, impairment revenue, deferred tax, leases, provisions, etc.
Students will read five elective modules across Semester 2 and Special Term 1 to attain a specialisation.

Analytics & Data Management
The module provides accounting students with the tools needed to perform statistical analysis and manage accounting information. Coverage includes machine learning tools, the choice among different types of statistical analysis, and analysing large datasets. The module uses Python to address specific questions using both internal and external accounting data.
Bank Compliance and Risk Management
This module develops a conceptual framework for building effective compliance and risk management programs in banks. Emphasis is placed on key areas of risk, and major banking regulations.
Financial Statement Analysis
The module enables students who has knowledge in accounting, finance and strategic management to perform meaningful analyses of a firm in arriving at appropriate estimates of its intrinsic value.
