• 30 points: EXERSCI 790 Research Project

The programme will be delivered in a case-based, practical-oriented learning and teaching style, emphasizing application of theory to practice, clinical reasoning, and physiotherapy knowledge and skills. Inquiry and project-based, active learning and teaching methods will be used to facilitate critical thinking and independent learning.

Academic knowledge will be consolidated during five, five-week clinical practicums placed in District Health Board or private practice clinical settings, under supervision of registered physiotherapists.

Academic and clinical practicum courses will be delivered sequentially across both years of study, to support translation of knowledge and skills to clinical practice. Academic courses must be passed prior to undertaking an associated clinical practicum.

Further programme requirements

Taught 240 points

You must have completed an undergraduate degree in a relevant subject at a recognised university (or similar institution) with a GPE of 5.0.

You must also have completed undergraduate courses in human anatomy, human physiology, exercise physiology, and neurophysiology (approved by the Head, Department of Exercise Sciences).

Relevant subjects include exercise sciences, health sciences, physiology, psychology, and sport and exercise science.

Fees are inclusive of 15% GST, but do not include the Student Services Fee, course books, travel and health insurance, or living costs. Amounts shown are indicative only. In addition to the tuition fees, there is a Student Services Fee of $8.16 per point, estimated at $979.20 for full-time study (120 points). Fees will be confirmed upon completion of enrolment into courses.
