Programme structure

This programme offers two streams of postgraduate study in organisational psychology. The first is a taught stream that includes courses in topics relevant to organisational psychology and a dissertation research project (45 points). The second is a research stream that includes courses in topics relevant to organisational psychology and a thesis research project (90 points). Both streams will provide students with knowledge and skills relevant to the workplace. The research stream will also allow students to progress to a PhD.

A student must achieve a Grade Point Average of 5.0 or higher in the first 60 points of taught courses prior to enrolment in PSYCH 794.

 

A student admitted to this programme must complete the University of Auckland Academic Integrity Course as specified in the Enrolment and Programme Regulations, Academic Integrity, of the University Calendar.

 

Please note: This degree is not accredited for registration as a Psychologist, and eligibility into further study in an accredited programme should be discussed with the relevant university.

Further programme requirements

 

You must have:

Completed the requirements for an undergraduate degree or Graduate Diploma in Psychology.

OR

Completed the requirements for a Bachelors degree or Graduate Diploma in a relevant subject.

AND

Passed a course in research methods for Psychology.

 

In exceptional circumstances admission may be granted where a student has attained at least three years of extensive relevant, practical professional or scholarly experience equivalent to the requirements above.

 

Note: A relevant subject may be in business, education or health sciences.

Fees are set in advance of each calendar year and will be updated on this website. Fees are inclusive of 15% GST, but do not include the Student Services Fee, course books, travel and health insurance, or living costs. Amounts shown are indicative only. In addition to the tuition fees, there is a Student Services Fee of $8.16 per point, estimated at $1,468.80 for full-time study (180 points). Fees will be confirmed upon completion of enrolment into courses.

Where could this programme take you?

 

Graduates of the programme will have knowledge and skills relevant to organisational roles, including knowledge of human behaviour and organisational functioning. They will be able to develop solutions to workplace problems. They will be critical thinkers and strong communicators. Graduates will also have knowledge and skills related to evaluating and planning research projects. They will have high professional and ethical standards.
