Graduate Diploma in Tourism Management (GDTM)

Programme Information

The programme comprises seven courses, or six courses if the internship option is chosen:

• Principles of Tourism
• Hospitality and Tourism Strategic Management
• Tourism and Hospitality Management
• Tourism Policy Planning and Development

And three Stage III elective courses selected from Tourism Management or Hospitality Management programmes.

(Please note that not all elective courses are offered every semester.)

Internship Option

This option includes the four courses listed above, TOUR750 Tourism Internship, and one Stage III elective course selected from Tourism Management or Hospitality Management programmes.

The internship comprises 20 hours per week over 12 weeks (240 hours minimum).

• Bachelor degree at least equivalent to New Zealand pass standard; and

• IELTS 6.0 with no individual band lower than 5.5 / TOEFL iBT 60 (with a writing score of 18) / Pearson 50 / NZCEL (Academic) L4

• Candidates without a Bachelor degree but with an appropriate mix of a lesser qualification and work experience may be approved for special admission by the Academic Board

Domestic Students

• 2022 Programme Fees: NZ$4,890
• Resource Fees: NZ$910
• Total: NZ$5,800

Plus a compulsory Student Services Fee of NZ$300 per year (or NZ$30 per month or part thereof).

International Students

• 2022 Programme Fees: NZ$19,585 per 7 courses
• Resource Fees: NZ$910
• Total: NZ$20,495 per 7 courses
